GUERNSEY - Around The World In 80 Days BU 50p Coin - Single Coin

Phileas Fogg’s first stop in his journey Around the World in 80 Days has been celebrated on a British Isles 50p coin, giving collectors a visual insight into his famous travels.

Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated Quality

Issued to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Jules Verne’s epic adventure story, this 50p coin has been struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated quality, meaning you won’t find any scratches or marks that you would usually find on circulating coinage.

The design shows Phileas Fogg standing beside a moving train, ready to embark on his journey of a lifetime. You can also spot Big Ben in the background! To pinpoint Fogg’s initial location, the top of the coin displays the word ‘LONDON’, with the title of the story above.

Designed by Renowned Illustrator Stephen Lee

Renowned illustrator Stephen Lee created this highly detailed design that truly brings the incredible journey to life. Lee also designed the popular British Isles Alice in Wonderland 50ps, so this Around the World in 80 Days coin will surely gain a lot of attention. And, we've already seen sell-outs in the range.

Your coin – authorised for release by Guernsey Treasury and officially approved by Her Majesty the Queen – will arrive presented in a display card that depicts the story’s globetrotting theme, including a clever compass design.
