About Father`s Day

Latvijas Pasts in collaboration with the Latvian parents’ organisation Mammamuntetiem.lv has released a special stamp in honour of Father’s Day, which is a visual continuation of the Mother’s Day stamp issued on the 8th of May 2019. The first day cancellation of the stamp is scheduled to take place at the specially created improvised post office during the Father's Day Festival hosted in Vērmanes Garden, Riga by Mammamuntetiem.lv from 12 PM to 5 PM on the 8th of September. The presentation of the stamp will be held at the same place at 2 PM and will see the participation of the Manager of Mammamuntetiem.lv Inga Akmentiņa-Smildziņa, representatives of the management of Latvijas Pasts and the artist of the stamp Kristīne Lapsa-Kalniņa.

The face value of the stamp dedicated to Father’s Day is € 0.50, which corresponds to the cost of sending a Class B letter within Latvia. The print run of the stamp is 80,000 copies and its release is accompanied by the issue of a special cover with a print run of 1,000 copies.

The new stamp in collaboration with Mammamuntetiem.lv has been issued in honour of Father’s Day, which will be celebrated in Latvia on the 8th of September this year – thus creating a set of stamps together with the Mother’s Day stamp issued this May, conveying the message of the value and importance of the family in society.

The presentation of the Father’s Day Stamp will take place at 2 PM on the 8th of September at the improvised post office created specifically for this event in the Vērmanes Garden area, where the traditional Father’s Day Festival organised by Mammamuntetiem.lv will be held. At this post office it will be possible to purchase the new stamps and stamp them with a special first day postmark throughout the event from 12 PM to 5 PM.
