About Endangered Species (3 Offices)

On 18 March 2022, the United Nations Postal Administration will issue its 2022 Endangered Species stamps. For over 25 years, UNPA has issued stamps to celebrate the many beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora, and to raise awareness about the multitude of benefits that conservation provides to people. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is an international agreement between governments. It is a legally binding, multilateral agreement that sets the rules for international trade in wildlife. The Convention regulates international trade in more than 38,000 species of wild animals and plants. Its purpose is to ensure that this trade is legal, sustainable and traceable, and that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.
