About Environment in Greenland V

The two stamps in the fifth and final part of our series ’The environment in Greenland’ were created by the artist Paarma Olsvig Brandt. Barely two years ago, she made her stamp debut creating the beautiful design on our Covid-19 relief stamp, G681, issued in August 2020.

Paarma is one of the younger personalities on the Greenlandic art scene. This is her second and third stamps for TUSASS Greenland. She says of her two stamps symbolising the environment in Greenland:
“The first design is about the marine environment and our responsibility to take care of the sea and marine animals and, generally: Our nature and the abun- dant wildlife. The second design relates to the human environment and our responsibilities as human beings, both individually and collaboratively.

I focus on the light. Positivity and love. This is what strengthens us as humans when we go through difficult times in life. Both works are created in watercolours.”
