To mark the 75th anniversary of the comic character Snoopy, PostNL will issue the stamp sheet Snoopy 75 Years with 5 frame stamps.
The design of the stamps was created by graphic designer Frank Janse of design agency VormVijf in The Hague. The price of the Snoopy 75 Years stamp sheet with 5 stamps is €6.65.
On each of the 5 stamps from the Snoopy 75 Years stamp sheet, Snoopy is depicted as one of his fantasy characters. These are Joe Cool (a popular student), Flying Ace (a British World War I pilot), Beagle Scout (a scout troop leader), World Famous Jogger (a runner who is not very good at running), and Fierce Pirate (a pirate with Snoopy’s doghouse as a pirate ship).
In all illustrations, Snoopy wears clothing and accessories that match the alter ego. For example, in the Fierce Pirateillustration, Snoopy wears a bandana and an eye patch on his head while peering through a telescope with his other eye. This drawing also features Woodstock, Snoopy’s best friend.
The names of the characters are printed at the top of the 5 stamps. On the top margin of the sheet, the official Snoopy 75 Years anniversary logo appears on the left, and on the right an illustration of Snoopy holding an envelope in front of a typical American mailbox.
