Curling is a teamwork Olympic winter sport that dates back to the 16th century to Scotland. It is most popular in Canada, the United States, Norway and Sweden. The point of the game is to let the ice stones to slip in the rectangular ice box as close to the target as possible. 2002 the Lithuanian Curling Association, which was founded, has opened the way for lovers of this sport to take part in various international tournaments. Speed skating on the short track is an Olympic sport, one of the fastest skating species. In 2014 Agnė Sereikaitė was representing Lithuania in the Sochi Olympic Games. She is the first representative of this sport in our country for the Olympics. Lithuanian national team candidate will not participate in the XXIII Olympic Winter Games due to the trauma suffered during the qualifying event in Seoul. The Winter Olympics have been held every four years since 1924. The first was held in the village of Mont blank - Chamonix, France. At that time, more than 200 athletes from 16 countries competed in six sports - speed skating, skiing, northwest, skier, angling and ice skating (bobsleigh).
