2018Endangered Species (3 Offices) - Special Folder

For 25 years, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) has issued stamps to highlight the need for the protection of endangeredspecies throughout the world. UNPA is proud to present this year’s collection celebrating this twenty-fifth anniversary milestone. The stamps will be issued on 2 March 2018, which falls on Friday and a day before the 2018 World Wildlife Day. It is an opportunityto celebrate the many beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora, and to raise awareness of the multitude benefits thatconservation provides to people.

The Designs

The US$ 1.15 stamps depict the following endangered species:

- Tauraco erythrolophus (red-crested turaco)

- Chaetophractus nationi (Andean hairy armadillo)

- Neurergus kaiseri (Lurestan newt)

- Hydrastis canadensis (goldenseal)

The CHF 1.50 stamps depict the following endangered species:

- Saiga tatarica (saiga antelope)

- Uncarina grandidieri (succulent sesame)

- Polymita picta (Cuban land snail)

- Carcharhinus falciformis (silky shark)

The € 0.80 stamps depict the following endangered species:

- Hoodia pilifera (hoodia)

- Mantella madagascariensis (Malagasy painted mantella)

- Pangshura sylhetensis (Assam roofed turtle)

- Hippocampus zebra (zebra seahorse)
