This is where the opening, awards and closing ceremonies will all beheld. The mascot Yodli was designed bystudents from the Ecole romande d’arts et communication (ERACOM), contempo-raries of the athletes.
At the heart of the Games are the Olympic values: excellence (outstanding sporting performance), respect (for other people and the environment) and friendship (cultural exchange). But Swissness also plays a major role. Gender equality and sustainability will also be exemplied. The new development for the Olympic village will become the VORTEX student accommodation after the Games, and the Vaudoise Arena, the new multisport facility at Espace Malley, was already planned long before hand and will continue to be used afterwards.
