100 Years of Football in Slovenia - Miniature Sheet for only GBP £1.15
The year 2020 is a special one for Slovene football in that it sees the sport's national governing body celebrate its centenary. The Ljubljana Football Sub-Association, the predecessor of today's Football Association of Slovenia (NZS) was founded in Ljubljana on 24 April 1920, and the first championship was also played that year. Although the origins of football in Slovenia date back to earlier times, activity on the country's football pitches was halted by the First World War and did not begin again until towards the end of the decade, with the reorganisation of a number of clubs and the establishment of the Football Association of Yugoslavia in Zagreb in 1919.
