The lever well or čiga in Tešanovci is a surviving example of the characteristic wells for drawing groundwater that are designated as wells of the Pannonian type. Within Slovenia, this type of well was most widespread in the Prekmurje region and the other Pannonian areas of Slovenia, particularly Dolenjska and Bela Krajina. Individual examples were even found in the north-western Bohinj area: in Gorjuše and Koprivnik. They were also found in other Pannonian areas of Europe: in Hungary, Slavonia, Podravina and elsewhere.
