From 2007 to 2011 “HayPost” CJSC issued the definitive series of postage stamps depicting Tigran the Great. The two-fold collection includes all 46 postage stamps issued in different years. During the reign of king Tigran the Great, who was honored with the title "King of Kings", Armenia became one of the most powerful and developed countries in the region. King Tigran the Great (95-55 B.C.), the prominent representative of the Artaxiad Royal Dynasty, had a significant role in the strengthening of the Armenian statehood. He succeeded in creating “from sea to sea Armenia”. His empire stretched from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
