Estonian National Museum
The Estonian National Museum is the Estonian and Finno-Ugric cultural museum. The building of the museum that was designed by the architectural bureau DGT Architects is in Raadi in Tartu among parks and in its outside territories. The museum has a permanent exhibition under the name of "Meetings" and the finnish-ugrian permanent exhibition, "Echo of the Urals", which speak about the ordinary days of the people their way of life and experience since the period of the ice age until today. It explores what people have lived there, how they have experienced and formed their surrounding environment. As a versatile cultural center, the museum offers concerts, performances, art, movies, art and educational programs for every age group. The museum was established in 1919 with the aim of collection, keeping, presenting and introducing subjects of the Estonians as well as of the minority people living in Estonia and those of the neighbouring peoples.
