Issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Manx Aviation and Military Museum, this six-stamp collection highlights key aspects of the Museum’s extensive aviation and military history. The stamps depict the stories of Manx people involved in conflicts from the First World War to Korea, as well as the Island’s civil aviation heritage.
World War I and II displays feature medals, equipment, photographs, and memorabilia, illustrating the courage and sacrifice of individuals such as Lieutenant Colonel John Douglas Clague, who served with distinction in Asia during the Second World War. The stamps also celebrate the Manx Regiment and its role in protecting British airfields, docks, and radar stations.
Civil aviation is represented with historic and modern aircraft, including a Manx Airlines British Aerospace ATP turboprop, illustrating the Island’s aeronautical development. Additional stamps showcase the Museum’s rich collection of model soldiers, crash artefacts, and unique items like a Japanese officer’s sword from 1945.
Available as a mint set, First Day Cover and Presentation Pack, this collection offers collectors and enthusiasts an opportunity to own a piece of Manx cultural and military history.
