San Marino, September 1, 2025 – A portrait of Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925), by painter Alberto Falchetti (1878-1951), owned by the Frassati family, and a photograph by Carlo Acutis (1991-2006), taken during one of his last school trips before his untimely death. These two images will be reproduced on the postal issues dedicated to the canonization of the two Blesseds, scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025, in St. Peter's Square, presided over by Pope Leo XIV.
The two joint postal issues, each of one stamp, were organized by the Postal and Philately Service of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, in collaboration with the issuing authorities of Italy, San Marino, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and are intended to pay homage to the two young men, who bore witness to Christ in their brief lives.
The two stamps, with a face value of €1.35 each, will be marketed by Poste Italiane, Poste Vaticane, Poste San Marino, and the Magistral Post of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
In the Republic of San Marino, in the Parish of Saints Peter, Marino, and Leo, in Murata, a precious relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis is kept for veneration. This relic is an ex capillis relic, consisting of fragments of the young Blessed's hair, a tangible sign of his spiritual presence and the devotion he continues to inspire in the hearts of so many faithful.
