Naissaar Lighthouse
About Naissaar Lighthouse
Naissaar Lighthouse – a giant at the gateway to the Gulf of Finland. The island’s tall forests have guided sailors since the 13th century, but a permanent light was first lit on its northern tip in 1849. Having withstood storms, wars, and destruction, today’s 45-metre red-and-white concrete tower has stood since 1960. Its beam flashes every night, reaching 12 nautical miles, now powered by solar and wind energy. In 2025, the lighthouse celebrates its 65th anniversary. Did you know that Estonia’s lighthouse stamp series has been preserving the heritage of light and sea stories for 30 years?
