UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Portugal
The stamp shows a view of Sintra Castle, one of Portugal's UNESCO sites. Sintra, inscribed in 1995, became the first centre of European Romanticism architecture in the 19th century thanks to the castle in which Gothic, Egyptian, Moorish and Renaissance elements were used. 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of the elevation of relations to diplomatic status between Portugal and San Marino. Completing the value is ‘1.35’, ‘San Marino’, the Coat of Arms of the Republic, the legend ‘UNESCO Sites: Portugal - 723 Sintra Cultural Landscape’, the name of the designer and the year 2025. The band to the left of the mini-sheet shows a short text on the Unesco site at the top and an illustration of the Public Palace and a map of Portugal with the location of the site at the bottom.
