Anniversaries - 200 Years of Brewing in Lasko

Laško is a town with a beer-brewing tradition dating all the way back to 1825. The special postage stamp issued to mark the bicentenary of brewing in the town will symbolically honour an important part of Slovenia’s cultural and economic heritage.

Brewing in Laško is not merely a trade from the past it is a living, development-focused activity that grew from the local environment and has become a well-known success story both at home and abroad. The stamp is more than merely a nod to history, it is a mark of respect for the work of the generations that have shaped Laško as a town with brewing at its heart. It is also an expression of the connection between tradition and modernity and a reminder that heritage only stays alive if we find ways to develop it for the future.
