His Majesty King Felipe VI, Felipe de Borbón y Grecia, is the third child of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía. From a young age, his education was geared towards fulfilling his role as future Head of State. He ascended the throne in June 2014, following his father's abdication, and since his proclamation has promoted a renewed vision of the institution based on transparency, citizen engagement, and the modernization of the Crown. As King, he holds the Head of State position, represents Spain abroad and at official events, and exercises supreme command of the Armed Forces with the rank of Captain General.
Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias, Leonor de Borbón y Ortiz, is the eldest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and is first in line to the throne. Her education is aligned with the responsibilities she may assume in the future. After completing the International Baccalaureate, she entered the General Military Academy in August 2023 as part of her military training, thus continuing along the established educational path.
