On 7th November 2025, Tusass Greenland is issuing two captivat- ing Christmas stamps by Nikolaj Andersen Olsvig, his second and third since his debut as a stamp artist in 2013. The stamps capture the essence of Greenlandic Christmas in a way that is both warm, evocative and filled with poetic details.
The first design depicts a small group of churchgoers on their way to a Christmas service in a classic red-painted Greenlandic wood- en church. They are dressed in Greenlandic national costumes, while the snow blankets the landscape and twilight casts a soft glow over the scene. A bright Christmas star shines on the horizon, perfectly positioned above the church from the viewer’s perspec- tive, as a symbol of hope and tradition.
The second stamp depicts a family on a dog sled: a father as the sled driver and a mother with her child, on their way through
the snow-covered landscape. Seven energetic sled dogs pull the characteristic blue West Greenland sled directly towards the viewer. Nikolaj Andersen Olsvig’s almost impressionist painting style breathes life into both the landscape, light and the small, intimate details of family life.
These stamps are not just collectors’ items; they are miniature works of art that capture the essence of a Greenlandic Christmas and deliver it directly into your hands. With these two beautiful Christmas stamps, Tusass Greenland wishes all our customers and collectors a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
