In 2025, Azerbaijan marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Üzeyir Hacıbeyli, the founder of Azerbaijani professional music and one of the most outstanding cultural figures of the nation. A brilliant composer, educator, and public intellectual, Hacıbeyli played a key role in shaping modern Azerbaijani musical culture by blending national traditions with Western classical forms. He is the creator of the first opera in the Muslim East and the author of the national anthem of Azerbaijan.
