Yahalom Unit - 30 Years

The Yahalom Unit (“Diamond” in Hebrew) is an elite IDF special operations engineering unit, combining commando skills with advanced engineering expertise. Founded in 1995 through the merger of earlier bomb disposal and reconnaissance units, it marked 30 years of operational excellence in 2025. Yahalom’s core missions include explosive disposal, tunnel detection, demolitions, combat engineering, and technical reconnaissance. Members undergo rigorous selection and training, reflecting the unit’s dual role as both a combat force and engineering authority. Over three decades, Yahalom has played a critical role in major IDF operations and counter-terror efforts, maintaining a reputation for precision, innovation, and frontline service.
