Birth of the Republic - 40th Anniversary (1974-2014)
On 13 December 1974, the Constitution of Malta was amended so as to make Malta a republic state, and Sir Anthony Mamo became the country's first President
The stamps marking these historical events were designed by Maltese artist Emvin Cremona and issued in 1964 and 1974 respectively. They are now being jointly reproduced in a miniature sheet format.
