Alderney Christmas: Anne French Stained Glass Windows

Christmas is the perfect time to help other people. At this time of year, our thoughts may turn to helping others less fortunate than ourselves.

For our Alderney Christmas stamps we have chosen to focus on someone who dedicated her life to helping children. Through her unwavering support and work with children in Alderney and overseas, Anne French epitomises the true meaning of Christmas.

Our stamps feature some of the scenes from a special window dedicated to her in 1957, which can be found in St. Anne’s church in Alderney. The Anne French window's a reflection of her charity work with children in the island and in countries such as Africa and Burma.
