About Karl Friedrich Benz - 160th Birth Anniversary

Karl Friedrich Benz was born on November 25th 1844 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He died in the place called Ladenburg near the German city Mannheim on April 4th 1885. Karl Benz is considered as the inventor of the first automobile. In fact, his automobile from 1885 with a motor drive of inner burnout is the first practical automobile in the world. His company Benz and Co., established in 1883 in Mannheim, rapidly became one of the most significant initiators in the automobile industry in the whole world, which was just evolving at that time.

Already in 1893 Benz manufactures the first automobile on four wheels, and in 1899 the first in the series of racing cars is manufactured upon which the company becomes famous in out the entire world.

With the uniting of the Benz Company and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft Company in 1926, one of the largest automobile companies of our time was created, the Dailmler-Benz.

The Daimler-Benz Company, the manufacturer of the Mercedes automobile, represents the synonym for success and quality of the German automobile industry.
