International Children's Day
Croatian Post Office d.o.o Mostar, in the cooperation with the children's magazine ″Cvitak″, published a contest for choosing a child's work of art which would represent the artistic solution for our special occasion postage stamp, ″International Children's Day″. The theme of the prize contest published in the children's magazine ″Cvitak″ was ″Save Our Planet″. A Committee consisting of the representatives from both the Croatian Post Office d.o.o Mostar and the children's magazine ″Cvitak″ had a difficult task indeed to choose, among several hundreds of works of arts which had arrived from boys and girls from the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina, the work which would become the motif of our postage stamp.
In the end, however, the Committee singled out the work of eight year old Antonio Lovrić,a pupil at the Elementary school of Friar Lovro Karaula from the place of Livno.
We truly hope that, by issuing this special occasional postage stamp, we have given our contribution to development of ecological culture and creative epression of the youngest generations, as well as merked properly the ″International Children's day″.
