About World Heritage Day - Ivica Vlasic

Cultural heritage is unique and irreplaceable and as such it represents the value that must be preserved for future generations. In his artistic oeuvre, academy-trained painter and art pedagogue Ivica Vlašić mostly paints landscapes and horses and the idyllic beauty of nature of the Livno region, leaving it through his works to all of us as cultural heritage.

Ivica Vlašić (born 23 November 1954 in Vareš, living and working in Livno) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 1976. That same year he went on a study trip to Paris, and in 1981, as a holder of the Polish government scholarship, he specialized in painting in Warsaw. His works exude respect for the world around us. The idyllic nature, tranquillity of winter idyll or lush vegetation and unrestrained horses are an everlasting source of inspiration for an artist who captures a moment of beauty for us to enjoy it. He has had more over 50 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 150 group exhibitions. He has been included in the Encyclopaediaof Croatian Fine Arts in 1996 and in 1997 in the National Graphics Collection of the Croatian Club for International Cooperation as "aetas aurea of Croatian graphics". His paintings are held in museums, galleries and private collections around the world. He has been awarded numerous honours and awards, he is the organizer of and participant in numerous art colonies, many of which are humanitarian.
