About One With Nature - World Of Hunting And Nature Exhibition

The last time Hungary organised a world exhibition on the theme of hunting was in 1971. 50 years later, under the motto “One with Nature”, a world exhibition will again be staged in the Hungarian capital between 25 September and 14 October 2021. The venue of the large-scale central event is the HUNGEXPO Budapest Convention and Exhibition Centre, where various hunting, forestry and fishing themes combined with the long-term sustainability of nature will be presented to visitors in a modern environment in an area totalling over 70,000 square metres. The aim of the series of programmes is to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, the concept and meaning of the sustainable utilisation of nature, and the use and necessity of hunting, game management, angling, fishing, fish management, forestry and forest management.

The stamp of the souvenir sheet shows the portraits of Zsigmond Széchenyi, Hungarian hunter, traveller, writer; Kálmán Kittenberger, Hungarian Africa researcher, zoologist, teacher, hunter and natural science writer, the former chief editor of the hunting journal Nimród; and the József Attila Prize-winning Hungarian writer István Fekete, the author of many youth novels and animal stories. The three writers are surrounded by the mysterious world of forests in the frame of the souvenir sheet. The eight stamps of the set present animals connected to the theme in an interrelated composition: mouflon (Ovis aries), European fallow deer (Dama dama), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), wild boar (Sus scrofa), red deer (Cervus elaphus), wirehaired vizsla, European hare (Lepus europaeus), grey partridge (Perdix perdix) and pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). The main motif of the special first day cover is the red deer, while the special postmark depicts the logo of the event.
