About The 10th Anniversary of Croatia's Accession to the European Union

The Republic of Croatia celebrates the tenth anniversary of its membership in the European Union on 1 July 2023. In this tenth year of its membership, on 1 January 2023, two strategic goals have been achieved – euro area and Schengen entry, making Croatia one of the 15 countries in the world simultaneously being members of NATO, the European Union, eurozone and the Schengen area.

The EU membership has helped Croatia improve its international status and by means of EU funds, Croatia has improved numerous aspects of the everyday lives of its citizens, while the euro area and Schengen entry creates new opportunities for further domestic economy development, investment climate improvement, as well as the use of free movement within European area without borders.

Values upon which the European Union is built, the importance of unity and solidarity, strongly supported by Croatia as a Member State, are of high significance nowadays regarding the aggression in Ukraine when the issues of safety and energy stability of the whole European continent are brought to attention. In collaboration with European partners, Croatia continues to actively participate in the procedure of addressing political, social and economic challenges that Europe is facing today, with the goal of achieving a safe, just and prosperous common European future.
