Estonian Nurses Union 100
The Estonian Nurses Union is committed to people’s health. Nurses play an indispensable role in promoting and maintaining the health of their patients. The Union enables nurses to help people by acting as both a professional organisation promoting healthcare and as a trade union. As a professional organisation, the Union works to promote nursing as a profession at all levels. As a trade union, the Estonian Nurses Union advocates for good working conditions and pay for nurses and professional care workers, and for the sustainability of the healthcare system.
The Estonian Nurses Union is the legal successor organisation of the Estonian Nurses Association, which was founded on 9 November 1923.
The mission of the Union is to promote people-centred change in healthcare.
The Union is committed to achieving people-centred health care – with a sufficient number of well-trained nurses, specialist nurses, and professional care workers to ensure the accessibility of healthcare services everywhere in Estonia and a reasonable division of labour among healthcare workers which corresponds to their training, offers opportunities for development, and maintains the health of the team members.
