XXXIII Summer Olympic Games Paris
The XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will take place from 26 July to 11 August in Paris. The French capital, which is hosting the Summer Olympics for the third time, proudly calls this year’s games the most urbanist of all the Olympics, as the event will be integrated into the urban space as organically as possible.
Estonia will be participating in the Summer Olympics as an independent country for the 15th time. The first Estonian to win an Olympic medal was the wrestler Martin Klein in Stockholm in 1912, representing Tsarist Russia. The first athlete of the Republic of Estonia to be crowned the Olympic champion was the weightlifter Alfred Neuland in Antwerp in 1920. In total, Estonia and Estonian athletes have won 81 medals at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games (27 gold, 23 silver, 31 bronze).
