Like the Ocean in general and perhaps even more so, the Mediterranean Sea is threatened by pollution, global warming and excessive exploitation of its resources. However, it is still possible to act. From April 5, 2025, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is devoting an exhibition to these issues: “Méditerranée 2050”. Embarked on a spatio-temporal exploration of the Mediterranean, visitors will be invited to discover the centuries-old commitment of the Principality of Monaco to the Mediterranean and the solutions that will better protect it, in particular thanks to the international treaty which aims to create 30 % of Marine Protected Areas by 2030. Guided throughout their journey by large marine mammals, emblematic species of the Mediterranean, their exploration will allow them to understand why the creation of Marine Areas well-managed protected areas constitute a real promise for the preservation of the Ocean and its biodiversity. See you on April 5, 2025 for a moving and informative journey through the past, present and future of the Mediterranean.
