To mark the 51st anniversary of the work of Don Samuel Bermúdez Jiménez, the Ciudadelas de Libertad Foundation in Desamparados and Correos de Costa Rica unveiled a commemorative stamp issue honoring his legacy as founder and visionary.
The stamp, now part of the nation’s philatelic heritage, symbolizes a life devoted to forging paths, creating opportunities, and promoting youth leadership.
“We are beginning the journey toward reaching 100 years, and we do so with an event like this—one that immortalizes what the Foundation stands for. We are now part of the country’s philatelic and cultural history, and we who seek progress through culture are now also part of it,” said Jorge Chinchilla Castro, President of the Foundation.
Susan González Monge, Director of Marketing and Communications at Correos de Costa Rica, added:
“This stamp issue is a symbol of respect and admiration for a remarkable endeavor that has driven the development of the canton of Desamparados, inspiring young people to explore their talents and make the most of them.”
This stamp is “a message that will travel across the country, reminding us that true change begins when someone believes in the potential of others.”
