About Gold Stamp - King Willem II and Willem III
King Willem II, who fought under the Duke of Wellington in the Battle of Waterloo, died in 1849 and was automatically succeeded in that year by his eldest son Willem III. In addition to being king of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, king Willem III was also Grand Duke of Luxembourg until his death in 1890.
