On November 18, 2025, PostNL will release the "The Taste of Soestdijk" stamp sheet, the day before the opening of the eponymous exhibition at Soestdijk Palace. The exhibition takes visitors on a tasteful journey of discovery through culinary traditions and royal dining experiences. The "The Taste of Soestdijk" stamps feature a denomination of "1" for mail up to 20 grams destined for the Netherlands. The stamps were designed by graphic designer Marty Schoutsen of Opera Concept & Design, based on an idea by Nicole Uniquole.
Soestdijk Palace will open its doors on November 19, 2025, for a major exhibition exploring the art of food and hospitality at court. The "The Taste of Soestdijk" exhibition takes visitors on a tasteful journey of discovery through culinary traditions and royal dining experiences. From grand dinners for international guests to intimate family meals, this exhibition offers an original perspective on the kitchen as the beating heart of this royal family home. For the first time, the historic kitchens will be open, giving visitors a glimpse into how the House of Orange cooked, ate, and enjoyed good company. The exhibition was co-curated with input from Ben Gortworst, former chef to Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard. Pastry chef Robèrt van Beckhoven, known for his television program "Heel Holland Bakt," created chocolate masterpieces for the exhibition. For "De Smaak van Soestdijk," designers and artists have created contemporary objects that reflect the way we gather at the table today. In the display, these contemporary designs are paired with historical centerpieces and tableware from the Royal Collections, creating a fusion between past and present, tradition and contemporary design. The exhibition "De Smaak van Soestdijk" runs from November 19, 2025, to March 29, 2026.
