2025100th Birth Anniversary of Vaclovas Intas - Set

Vaclovas Intas (1925–2007) – a doctor, geologist and naturalist, on whose initiative one of the most unique Stone Museums in Lithuania was established in Mosėdy. His idea was born in 1957, when V. Intas began collecting stones from the surrounding fields and bringing them to his homestead, later expanding the collection to other parts of the town. The museum park began to be formed in 1972 on both banks of the Bartuva River, occupying a valley of 14.5 hectares.This museum has a collection of about 150 thousand various stones, collected not only from Lithuania, but also from the entire Baltic Sea region. The collection includes various rocks, boulders and geological formations that came to Lithuania during the ice ages.
