The set includes:
King Trdat III (Tiridates III) by Hovnatan Hovnatanian( (1730–1801) who was a prominent Armenian painter and miniaturist, considered one of the founders of the modern Armenian painting tradition).
King of Armenia (late 3rd – early 4th century) who proclaimed Christianity the state religion in 301 AD, making Armenia the first Christian nation in the world.
Madonna and Child by Hovnatan Hovnatanian( (1730–1801)
A traditional Christian image depicting the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus, symbolizing divine love, motherhood, and salvation.
St. Hripsime by Hovnatan Hovnatanian( (1730–1801)
A 4th-century Christian martyr who refused to renounce her faith. Her martyrdom played a key role in the conversion of King Trdat III and the Christianization of Armenia.
St. Gayane by Hovnatan Hovnatanian( (1730–1801)
The abbess who accompanied Hripsime and was also martyred for her faith. The churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane in Etchmiadzin are among Armenia’s most important early Christian monuments.
The Last Supper by Hovnatan Hovnatanian( (1730–1801)
The final meal of Jesus Christ with His disciples before the Crucifixion, symbolizing the institution of the Eucharist.
Khachkar (13th–14th century)
A traditional Armenian cross-stone carved with intricate ornamentation and a central cross. Khachkars are unique monuments of medieval Armenian Christian art and are included in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Khachkar of Geghard (carved into the rock)
A remarkable cross-stone carved directly into the rock walls of the Geghard Monastery, demonstrating the high artistic and spiritual traditions of medieval Armenia.
Relic of Geghard (Holy Lance)
According to tradition, the spear that pierced Christ’s side during the Crucifixion. It was preserved in Armenia for centuries and gave the monastery its name — Geghard meaning “spear.”
Portrait of Gregory the Illuminator
The patron saint of Armenia who converted King Trdat III and led the nation to adopt Christianity in 301 AD. He is considered the founder of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Portrait of Catholicos Vazgen I, who was the Catholicos of All Armenians, renowned for reviving the Armenian Church and preserving its spiritual heritage.
