About Baltic Tribes - The Curonians
The postage stamps dedicated to the Curonians depict two symbols characteristic of this tribe – a sword and a winding bracelet. Curonians lived in the north-west of present-day Lithuania and south-west of Latvia, mainly in the 8th–13th centuries. They were famous as excellent warriors and sailors, which is why they are often called "land Vikings"
