202680th Anniversary of Lucky Luke - Miniature Sheet

Created by Maurice de Bevere better known as Morris Lucky Luke made his debut in 1946 in the pages of “Spirou” magazine. With his unmistakable white hat, vest, red bandana, and pistol always at the ready, this lone cowboy riding off into the sunset while whistling his own ballad has, over the course of eight decades, become a fixture in the collective imagination of generations of readers. Famous for his ability to shoot faster than his own shadow, Lucky Luke is not a gunslinger in search of glory: he uses his gun primarily to disarm, rather than to hurt. Unpretentious, consistent, and instantly recognizable, he arrives in town to restore order and leaves without asking for anything in return. Over the years, the character evolved, becoming increasingly poised and turning into a true guardian of justice, ready to intervene only when necessary. Even minor details reflect this evolution, such as his cigarette being replaced by a wisp of straw and the final cadence in which he rides off into the sunset, singing his melancholic ballad.
