The history of Lithuanian toys is still poorly studied, since there are few archaeological, ethnographic and historical sources. The oldest known Lithuanian toys were made of wood. The most favourite toys were wooden toys-puzzles. It is more known about Lithuanian industrial toy production only from the late twentieth century when the best-known Lithuanian toy manufacturer-factory “Žaislas” started its activities, producing various tin toy vehicles and washing machines. Later it started producing plastic and rubber toys, and extended the themes - to produce a variety of guns and rubber animals.
