About The 300th Anniv. of the Birth of Friar Andrija Kacic Miosic
Father Andrija Kačić Miošić was born in the village Bristo near Makarska on April 17th 1704. , his father named Bartul Miošić and mother Manda. His mother's brother fra Šimun was an abbot at the Franciscan monastery in Zaostrog (1714.-1717.) and the provincial vicar of the great Franciscan province of Bosnia Srebrena (1727.-1728.) which owing to this encouraged young Antun's schooling and monastic orientation.
