In the Centenary year of the Great Union, Romfilatelia marks the cordial relationship between Romania and France, a country that supported us in all important moments of history, through the joint stamp issue General Berthelot, on the Romanian front.
The issue is made up of two stamps, one for each country. On Romania's stamp, with a face value of 5 lei, a front photo is reproduced, in which General Berthelot decorates a group of Romanian officers in Onesti. On the stamp of France, with a face value of 8.50 lei, a portrait of Henri Mathias Berthelot is illustrated, having on the background the sketch of the Hunedoara mansion belonging to the general.
The philatelic issue dedicated to General Berthelot opens the Romania-France Cultural Season (November 27, 2018 - July 14, 2019).
Romfilatelia thanks the Romanian Academy Library for the documentary and photographic support granted for the achievement of this postage stamp issue.
