Diving tours have enjoyed increased popularity among tourists in Iceland in recent years. In the Þingvöllur National Park diving is only allowed in two gorges, Silfra and Davíðsgjá. Silfra is one of the best diving sites in Iceland with about 7,000 people diving there every year. Davíðsgjá is situated more easterly in the National Park. Divers must comply with the rules and conditions for equipment and rights. They must also comply with all rules for diving and respect the rules of conduct in the National Park. It is not recommended to dive alone, dive in caves or go deeper than 30 meters. Divers dive entirely at their own risk and responsibility.
