About To the First Book Printed in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania - 500

Pranciskus Skorina's "Little Travel Book" is a collection of psalms and various didactic teachings, consisting of 22 bound books, nine of which contain the closing word written by P. Skorina herself. The publication was intended for traveling believers and townspeople. Much attention is paid to the design of the book - it is decorated with unique engravings, illuminations and initials.

Researchers of P. Skorina's works state that he published at least 23 publications in Vilnius, but no complete collection of the "Little Travel Book" has survived. Copies of this collection, consisting of 22 booklets, are kept in the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg. The Belgazprombank's collection in Minsk and the Royal Danish Library (Copenhagen) contain 18 booklets.

P. Skorina is the first publisher of books of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (and all East Slavs), an educator, a humanist, a translator, a writer and a liturgical poet, a medic and a botanist.
