2022World Environment Day - First Day Cover

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5th. 50 years ago, in 1972, this day was declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) to promote environmental protection around the world. The first UN conference to discuss environmental issues took place in Stockholm in June 5th, 1972. Representatives of 115 countries and international organizations who attended the conference agreed that ecosystems and natural resources must be preserved for future generations. The conference was followed by the UN Environment Program.
