About Gojko Susak
Gojko Šušak was born on 16 March 1945 in Široki Brijeg. Sharing the fate of many compatriots who did not want to put up with the suppression of Herzegovina's Croats, culture and religion, he quit his studies in Rijeka and continued his education at the University of Ottawa. In Canada, where he had lived and worked since 1969 as the president of the Croatian-Canadian Cultural Federation, president of the Foundation for Croatian Studies and director of the Croatian School in Ottawa, he worked wholeheartedly for the political unification of the Croatian emigrants.
