Galería de las Colecciones Reales invites you on an extraordinary journey: a journey through five centuries of art and culture in an exceptional building located in the heart of Madrid, next to the Royal Palace. A Heritage of all that shows a selection of the best works: paintings, sculptures, armor, tapestries, decorative arts, floats, ... signed among others, by masters of the stature of El Greco, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Goya, Bernini or Canops. The building, designed by Tuñón y Mansilla, has received ten architectural awards. Its sobriety and apparent simplicity contrasts, completes and emphasizes the magnificent exhibition. This Gallery is also an open window to all the Royal Sites managed by Patrimonio Nacional (such as the Monastery of El Escorial and the royal palaces of La Granja, Aranjuez or La Almudaina) and a showcase for all the work the institution does to maintain and disseminate this valuable heritage.
