The United Nations will take part in the 2025 World Exposition (Expo 2025) in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, from 13 April to 13 October 2025. With the theme “United for a Better Future,” the UN Pavilion will highlight the organization’s 80 years of efforts in tackling global challenges and crises, while urging collective action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through multilateral cooperation. The pavilion will host exhibits and programming from 35 UN entities and 15 UN Secretariat departments and offices.
The UN Pavilion’s logo features a white dove motif carrying an olive branch with leaves reflecting the colors of the SDGs. The logo embodies the UN’s commitment to peace and security as essential elements in achieving the SDGs and a world in which everyone thrives in peace, equality and dignity on a healthy planet.
The overall theme of Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, with the sub-themes ‘Saving Lives’, ‘Empowering Lives’, and ‘Connecting Lives’. Approximately 28 million visitors are expected to attend.
To commemorate the UN’s participation at Expo 2025, the UN Postal Administration will issue a three-stamp mini-sheet in the denominations of US$ 1.65, CHF 2,50 and € 1,90 which feature images of the UN Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.
