On June 27, 2025 the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a 2024 Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamp: "Year of the Snake".
The Asian New Year, “Chunjie,” literally translates as the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, because it marks the transition of lunar cycles rather than solar ones, as is followed in the Gregorian calendar. The date of the Chinese New Year celebration is always unique, shifting according to the lunar cycle. Traditionally, the Chinese New Year is celebrated on the second new moon after the winter solstice on December 21.
According to the lunar cycle, the Chinese New Year 2025 begins on January 29 and will last until February 16, 2026. This year will be under the sign of the Green Wood Snake. The Snake is considered the most enigmatic creature in the Chinese zodiac. It combines exceptionally keen intuition with high intellect, maintaining a balance between rationality and spirituality. According to Chinese beliefs, snakes symbolize wisdom. The Snake is prudent and cautious, capable of turning even difficult situations to its advantage. It does not recognize blind authority, critically evaluates information, and possesses strong diplomatic skills.
