UNESCO World Heritage - Mexico - (Geneva)
The World Heritage Convention, adopted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1972, emphasizes the collective responsibility of all nations to protect these sites for present and future generations.
World heritage refers to cultural and natural sites of “outstanding universal value” that are recognized by UNESCO as needing protection for the benefit of all humanity. These sites, inscribed on the World Heritage List, represent a shared legacy and are considered to be of exceptional importance to the planet’s cultural and natural heritage.
For almost 30 years, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) has issued stamps featuring UNESCO world heritage sites. UNPA is proud to present to collectors its 2025 series featuring six sites in Mexico.
