The United Nations Gifts collection is a combined group of artworks, historic objects and architectural components, officially donated to the United Nations by Member States, Foundations and individual donors since 1950.
The collection represents a diversity of cultures and periods in history. The works of art are aesthetically impressive and symbolically appropriate, representing high artistic merits and indigenous to the Member States offering the gift, while maintaining relevance to the work of the United Nations.
The UN Gifts website is an effort to preserve and promote the artistic and cultural legacy that has been entrusted by Member States to the Secretariat, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
